Windows Server 2022 Installation Requirements

Recommended Hardware Requirements

Architecture

  • I would stick with at least the minimum requirements for this category.

Processing Power

  • I suggest a modern day CPU over 3 GHz with at least a couple of cores, should be easy to find.

Memory

  • I would suggest 4 GB or more for the Desktop Experience, add more for each application requirements and number of users.

Secondary Storage

  • This is going to be mostly situational. Specifically for a file server, you need to keep ahead of storage usage periodically to keep users happy.

Display Adapter

  • If you are using an application that requires Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) usage, then I would be looking for a good graphics card, otherwise, minimum will due without too much trouble.

Peripherals

These are application specific to what you are trying to accomplish.
